Agatha Christie: The Famous Who-Dunn it Author?

Agatha Christie was an English author, who had penchant for writing detective novels and mystery novels at a very young age. Although she may have had 80 novels to her name, and has sold more than 4-billion books till date. Her fictional imagination – Hercules Poirot had the biggest influence on the literary world, sometimes considered the best detective novels the world has seen. The character of Poirot was a portly figure with a short stature and spoke English with a strong French Accent. The influences for creating the character came from the most famous fictional detective – Sherlock Holmes. Mrs. Christie had in mind, an eccentric personality accompanied by a stoogey assistant – and she created Inspector Japp to go help Poirot crack those difficult cases.

In his personal appearance, Poirot came across as a well-groomed gentlemen belonging to the European elite. One interesting excerpt from the book states .......”The neatness of his attire was almost incredible; I believe a speck of dust would have caused him more pain than a bullet wound.” This stress on a crystal-clean appearance was perhaps to cover up for the gentle limp he carried around when he walked. And perhaps he had a name to live up to – he belonged to the finest among the Belgian Police. This book and other books from Agatha Christie are available on the teleshopping website, homeshop18.com.
